Not only are the WhiteBoards in - 6 are installed!

Any time you want to stop by my room, I can help you download the software and set up your board for use. There is 1 board per team right now. It takes approximately 1 day to install 3. We are hoping for the rest to be installed by the 1st of October, which is, by the way, my birthday. What a present!

I hope to give mini-lessons on all kinds of neat tools you can use with or without the boards. The tools are FREEEEEEEE! That is the best price, don't you agree?

I am thinking of early morning and after school.

On my list:
Nicenet.org for online assignments and paperless handin
Webwwizard for your own activities and links for them, like a webquest
PortaPortal - a place to organize your information for unit
Blogspot for the adventureous
Del.icio.us my online bookmarks for everyone to go to
I have a subscription to Dr. Roger Taylor's interdisciplinary unit site - thousands of units - you give me a topic and I will get you a unit - it has GT, modifications, all sorts of great stuff. It cost me $300 and I am more than happy to help you get my money's worth out of it!

Anything else I can do, I will.

The SmartBoards are here!

The Boards and all supplies are in! They will be mounted over an existing whiteboard in your room. Training will happen sometime before we start school. I am getting trained and then will happily share all that I learn with you.

Fluency for the 21st Century Information

Here I am in Castine at the MLTI/eMints Summer Teacher Leader Institute and we are on the last day of information.

I have often thought that literacy encompasses many abilities and dimensions. Reading is one dimension.

Information Literacy = the abilities for recognizing when information is needed and locating, evaluating, and using effectively the needed information.

Noteshare will be an effective tool, once it gets turned on.

The Interactive whiteboards will be a great tool. I am so excited about them.

I will offer training and support for all kinds of things you might be interested in:
blogs, wikis, websites, webquests, internet searches, portaportals, epals, gaggle, rss feeds, bogus information on the web.

I am also teaching full time. I am an early morning person and we can do some early tutoring. I am able to stay after most days but I would need to know when you need me and what you need.
